Many reunions

Every time I go on holiday I seem to have a chance reunion back in the UK with the people I met! This has now happened 4 times in the past 5 years.

The first year I met someone in the middle of a large music festival just several months after seeing them on holiday in Spain. The next year I met someone I had had a holiday fling with when on a walking tour of London that had been organised by my university. I was nearly not going on the tour and it took us to a new part of the city where I would not usually go.

The next year I met someone in the middle of a club in Newcastle after meeting them on holiday. I am not usually in Newcastle and although he lives there, there are so many clubs in Newcastle and he happened to be there that night.

Finally, most recently, this year I met someone that I had seen traveling in the middle of the Olympic Park. It was complete chance we got tickets for the same day and stumbled into each other. He was one of those characters my friends and I really wanted to see again so it was big news when I did.

People can’t believe how many times I’ve met people from abroad back home: especially as they all come from different parts of the country and world. I don’t always meet them in my own backyard either but I think the fact that I love exploring and trying out new things definitely helps increase the likelihood of seeing travel friends again!
