Stephann Makri tells ‘Serendipity Stories’ in Canada

Stephann Makri has recently presented some of his ‘serendipity stories’ at McGill University in MontrĂ©al. These stories are digital video summaries of serendipitous experiences described by academic researchers in interviews – where Stephann asked researchers to provide him with a memorable example of serendipity in their research or in everyday life.

This talk was held alongside the international workshop SCORE (Serendipity, Chance and Opportunity in information REsearch), which was also held at McGill and was co-organised by Stephann.

Stephann’s trip to Canada also involved him leading a discussion session on ‘serendipity in systems’ at the workshop and giving a talk on understanding serendipity to the Computer Science department at Concordia university – also in MontrĂ©al.
